We work with and network with many other volunteer and Veteran Owned Organizations every single day.  Several of them do one specific thing, and that is TAKE VETERANS FISHING.  Why is this so important? Many Veterans who struggle with PTSD, TBI, or physical Injuries, and can be plagued by major depression and thoughts of suicide.  Like many others in the Veteran community, we want to STOP this, or at the very least create an outlet for our fellow brothers & sisters.  There are REAL Veterans out there that credit their new found love of angling, as their life saver and now therapy. My name is Matt, and I’m a Marine Corps Veteran, who runs VF and Matt’s Gaffs. I make each one of these by hand from locally sourced male Calcutta bamboo (stronger tinsel strength than steel) here in North Carolina. Choose from Length, hook size, grip styles/positions, and colors! I can even match your boat! From 2’ Kayak Gaffs to 7’ Charter Gaffs, I got you covered! $20 from every gaff will go back to VF in the form of gas money donations to 1 of 4 fishing non profits for Veterans that I have a relationship with.

Every day, thousands of Veterans silently fight battles long after their service ends. We’ve seen firsthand how fishing can be more than just a hobby — it’s therapy, peace, and purpose.

While we’re do not run our own VF-sponsored fishing trips directly, we’ve spent years partnering with trusted nonprofits, volunteer captains, and veteran-led organizations to connect those who served with free, healing days on the water.

Our mission is clear:

We raise money by hosting online tournaments, and running raffles. Every dollar raised goes directly to groups that take Veterans and Active Duty service members out fishing at no cost — giving them a lifeline, not just a line in the water.

100% of donations go to that same cause — no fluff, no middleman. Just impact.

We’re here to serve those who served. And to remind every Veteran that they are never alone.
